In the heart of Lowther Park, Whale Farm Cottage offers exceptional five-star Gold Award standard accommodation for four people. This 18th century farmhouse and barn was bought by the ‘Yellow Earl’ in the 1920s to become part of the Lowther estate and used as a farm cottage until 1997. Now it is an elegant, comfortable house restored and renovated to the highest possible standard with sumptuous furnishings, hand built kitchen and top-of-the-range appliances. The kitchen/conservatory has stunning views of the surrounding countryside of the Estate, whilst the sitting room is a cosy retreat with a real fire.   The two comfortable bedrooms are complimented by a large house bathroom and downstairs shower room.

The cottage has a large garden with views to the fells. Quiet footpaths lead almost from the door. For the more adventurous there is swimming in the River Lowther and plenty of storage for bikes, buggies and canoes.

The cottage is as beautiful as its surroundings and we can’t wait to come back soon.
